The Diploma in Music Production offers you structured, ‘hands-on’ training in music production. The focus of the course is on the creative use of the recording and production environment to produce music and sound for a range of commercial music applications including song writing and composing for film and television. The course is underpinned by a BTEC National Diploma and is equivalent to 2 ‘A’ levels.
Academic: A minimum of Four GCSEs (Grade A* - C) including English Language and normally music/music technology. International students need to meet our English language requirement of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent. Practical: A self produced piece of original music created with Music Technology hardware and software, at least one minute in duration. It can be composed in any music style, at any tempo and in any key. This assessment is designed to showcase your production ability and musicianship. Your music should be presented on a neatly presented audio CD. Please label your CD with your name and contact details, and test your CD to ensure it works before you submit it. We are looking for evidence of an interesting arrangement, good technical skills in terms of recording and mixing and a good sense of programming technique.
