You will learn about: hand tools and their maintenance, basic joints and how to cut them, how to use portable power tools, how to work safely and the building team and how it works together. You will also learn how to communicate and work effectively with others. The course includes basic building methods and construction technology. You�ll learn how to quantify materials required for the work you will be expected to do and how to safely move and store materials.
GCSE grade C in English and Maths or Level 1 in communication and application of number, plus a college assessment and interview. You need high motivation as 100% attendance is required, as is a desire to work in the construction industry.
