In this course, students will study through a combination of practical and theoretical skills to form a substantial skill base and understanding of the trade. They will study the following main units: health and safety, materials-use and storage, basic scaffolding, basic plastering, built environment, industrial studies, basic processes, internal plastering, floor laying, basic working platforms, bench run moulding, fibrous cornice, efficient working practices, key skills.
Students will need to have a level 1 diploma, NVQ 1: plastering or equivalent qualification and/or have several years experience as a plasterer.
