This course will provide students with an excellent opportunity to pursue a career in the catering industry. They will study introduction to the catering and hospitality industry, introduction to kitchen equipment, personal workplace skills, healthier foods and special diets, health and safety awareness, preparing a range of dishes using a various methods of cookery (poaching, steaming, boiling, stewing, baking, roasting, grilling, deep and shallow frying), cold food preparation and re-generation, functional skills in maths, English and IT.
Students will need to have a short basic skills assessment and an interview to demonstrate their enthusiasm.
