The digital revolution is forcing the most dramatic changes in art and design since the Renaissance. This interdisciplinary course combines practical and theoretical practice to develop students' digital skills within traditional areas such as painting, sculpture, illustration, printed material, exhibitions, animation, concept art for games and film, web products, architectural and interior visualisation, 3D computer modelling, product, automotive and furniture styling, fashion, surface pattern and packaging design, set design for theatre, film and TV, installation art and future visualisation.
GCSE Level: Normally 5 GCSEs including English, Maths and Art at Grade C or above. Together with one of the following: A minimum of 60 tariff points at A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification. Access to Higher Education: Considered on an individual basis. Applications from mature students without academic credentials will be considered on an individual basis. National and Advanced Diplomas in a relevant subject are accepted as a progression to a Foundation Degree and HND. A portfolio of art and design work must also be submitted at interview. Please note, additional costs may be incurred for necessary CRB check and if any equipment, resources or trips need to be purchased.
