This course equips students with a critical, systematic understanding of oral pathological conditions that require diagnosis by histopathological methods; students study the laboratory methods used to prepare oral diagnostic material for histopathological examination and the research tools used to advance the practice of diagnostic oral pathology; students develop a competence in the microscopical diagnosis of common and significant oral pathological lesions; students are also able to determine if any further information or additional procedures are necessary to confirm a diagnosis.
Basic principles of pathology; basic techniques in histopathology; research problems and approaches; current concepts in dentistry; laboratory research methods; diagnostic oral pathology; advanced oral histopathology; dissertation.
