If you have a garden full of impulse purchases that presents itself as a collection of plants, rather than a well thought out design, then this is the course for you. Here you will learn how to select a plant for its visual qualities in the same way that you choose wallpaper or carpet when designing a room. After studying the variety of plant forms and foliage textures you will then be given some simple rules on the use of colour and planting design. The role of plants in design will also be considered starting with trees and shrubs then moving on to roses, bulbs, herbaceous plants, grasses and ferns.
A fledgling interest in plants and design that you are waiting to explore. It's recommended that for this course, you already have an existing garden with some planting in that you would like to work on.
