This foundation degree programme recognises that contemporary games technology is used for a huge range of purposes, such as education, marketing, military or medical simulation, architecture; this course covers every aspect of game design from the theory of game-play to 3-dimensional animation and using game engines; students develop an understanding of gaming technology, learning environments, psychology, project and business planning.
Year 1: Core modules; contexts of practice 1; game play, theory and practice; drawing for games 1; 3-dimensional models for games; audio for games; work based learning (investigation and preparation). Year 2: Core modules; professional team brief; 3-dimensional animation for games; narrative structures; drawing for games 2; final major project; contexts of practice 2; work based learning (experience and evaluation).
