Course Description
Students will be introduced to elementary design and making of simple jewellery items such as rings, pendants, bangles etc. using modelling in soft wax, carving in hard wax, or other techniques. There will be an opportunity to cast one or more of any designs in silver or other metal. Also covered is fabrication using the jewellery saw and soldering.
Course Fees
£90 (£60 CYMCA members) incl VAT.
Entry Requirements
No special entry requirements, but students would benefit if they have had prior experience in making things in plasticine, plastic, wood or clay for example. Beading is not covered in this course.
Equipment and Materials
All equipment is provided; workwear is recommended, at least for the sessions using wax. Some base metal strip is also provided, silver sheet is sold at cost or students can provide their own.
