Course covers a range of specific disciplines covered, from fashion/textiles and graphic design/branding to new media, and including the examination of commercial pressures and constraints on industrial studios, to provide an informed and detailed understanding of creative practice; the identification and application of effective coordinated design is also carried out to substantiate investigative findings; an in-depth comprehension of design practitioners� responsibilities within a creative environment is also established; some of the roles that are discussed include: managing director; senior designer; visual merchandiser; pattern cutter; fashion magazine editor; fashion buyer; stage costume designer; brand-account director; creative director; studio manager; local, regional and global aspects of the design business are scrutinised in order to identify and establish common and/or unique creative practice that may be applied to personal project work; there is also the opportunity for students to expand their own design knowledge and practice in order to challenge conventional creative thinking.
