About this course

This programme is intended for dental practitioners wishing to develop their theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience in the treatment planning, surgical placement, restoration and maintenance of dental implants; the programme has been designed to allow students to gain experience of the use of dental implants in prosthodontic treatment within a supervised environment; knowledge is developed using distance learning modules and study days; students also have the opportunity to carry out a research project and prepare a dissertation; the aim of the modular programme is to produce caring, knowledgeable and skillful practitioners competent in the provision of the surgical and restorative dental aspects of dental implant treatment within the limits of the individual clinician.

Modules

Theoretical and practical modules as well as placements; self-directed learning and work based study; plus dissertation.

I think the course is very engaging although quite a hard pace to keep up with at first. It is certainly a big step up from A levels, I didnt think academic work could get any more challenging... but my law degree has so far proven me wrong...more
