About David Game College
Overview
This independent college (fee-paying) is one of London's leading
centres for pre-university education. David Game College is
accredited by the British Accreditation Council and is subject to regular
detailed inspection, giving an assurance of continuing academic quality. The College is also validated by the DfES.
What's on Offer
The David Game College offers two distinct pathways for those students seeking to qualify for UK university entry:
Advanced (A) level:
Students normally take the three subjects at A level which are most relevant to their intended university degree programme. Students are given individual support and advice by the Director of Studies to enable them to make the best choice of A levels, universities and degree courses, and to guide them through the UCAS university application process. Of the College's A Level students entering British universities in 2006, more than 15 per cent were placed in The Times top ten universities, and more than 40 per cent were placed in the Times top 20 universities.
The David Game College offers one-year, one-and-a-half-year and two-year programmes in all main A level subjects. With its flexible, small-class timetabling arrangements, almost any combination of subjects is possible. The college also offers retake courses for A level students wishing to improve their examination grades.
University Foundation Programme (UFP):
This is a one-year programme designed for international students who are sufficiently well advanced in their secondary education to start degree level work after one further year of intensive preparation. It is a modular programme with strong emphasis on basic communication and study skills, this being a feature welcomed by universities. Students choose three specialist subject modules to prepare for their intended university degree courses. Almost all UK Universities accept UFP as meeting entry requirements for their degree courses. University English Language requirements(eg IELTS), are an integral part of the UFP course for those students who need this. The UFP may be taken from September to June or January to August, both options enabling entrance in October.
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE):
David Game College offers one and two-year programmes for students who do not yet have the required background to begin A levels. Intensive IGCSE/GCSE retake courses for the November exams are also available.
English Language:
The college has all-year-round English language courses at all levels. Students may take Intensive English to prepare them for A level or UFP, or enrol for English Language only. Others take part-time IELTS courses to reach the standard required by Universities.
