This course embraces concepts from sociology, psychology, history, cultural studies and philosophy; students examine different types of crime and develop an understanding of the theoretical assumptions and research evidence that underpin criminal justice policy, in an increasingly globalised society; the use of case studies in learning and contributions from practitioners across the criminal justice system ensure the practical and vocational relevance of the programme is constantly refreshed; psychology students gain a hands-on experience in conducting research and experimentation; introductory modules in the programme offer a broad overview of the subject and psychological research methods; as students progress, they are able to choose from a range of specialised topics focused around their interests.
