This unique course is designed for students who wish to gain a wide variety of forensic knowledge across many fields, which enables them to work in many areas within the criminal justice system; this course provides students not just with the theoretical and practical skills required of a crime scene examiner, but also familiarises them with criminological and criminal justice theories; students also gain an understanding of the different investigative techniques used by police and investigative services; upon completion of the course, students possess a range of transferable skills and techniques needed in the criminal justice system, which places them ideally to gain employment in this sector.
Examples: Case studies; human rights; identification techniques; introduction to criminalistics; introduction to police and forensic photography; perceptions of crime; United Kingdom legal systems and law for forensic scientists.
