Anyone with an interest in creating web pages. No specific experience of creating web pages is assumed. You must be methodical since the assessment requires that you complete all tasks satisfactorily. You will produce a multi-media website using Dreamweaver CS 5.5. The skills you will learn include using Google maps and news feeds, tables, CSS style sheets, video, sound, animation, and roll-over buttons. You will also develop web pages that support search engine optimisation and are accessible to people with a range of disabilities. Selling your ideas to clients is vital to any web-designer; therefore a key part of the course is producing mood boards, visualisation diagrams, spider diagrams and storyboards. How will I be assessed? Assessment is via an extended piece of coursework in the Spring term. The course is graded pass or fail. To pass you must satisfactorily complete all practical and written parts of the assessment. Those who successfully complete the iMedia award have the opportunity to complete the industry recognised Adobe Dreamweaver Certificate in the Summer term.
