Course Description
Recent estimates suggest that the creative and cultural industries sector employs up to a million people in London and millions more nationwide and worldwide.This fast expanding economic and cultural sector includes journalism, television, publishing, advertising, film, public relations, fine art and digital media of all sorts, and this course offers both training for work within the sector, and an academic insight into the creative and cultural industries. Core teaching on the course provides what is essential for professional practice in the creative and cultural industries; namely skills in: cultural management (including arts management, cultural policy and small-business accounting), research and project development (including project management), personal career development (including team-building) and sector analysis.You will also learn practical, creative skills like creative writing (including fiction writing and scriptwriting), IT skills (including hypertext and digital imaging), three-dimensional design (including commercial and interior design), and photographic skills (including filmmaking and still photography). You will also be studying contemporary creative and cultural phenomena including film, video, television, literature, art,multimedia projects and the internet.The theoretical and empirical knowledge acquired on these academic modules, combined with the skills and insight acquired on practical and professional modules, will provide you with both a stimulating and an up-to-date learning experience and useful means to seek a rewarding career in the creative and cultural sector.

Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement will normally be a lower second class Honours degree. Applicants who have a relevant professional qualification and/or extensive relevant professional or arts experience will also be considered.
