Creative and critical writing explores the relationship between creative production and critical awareness and allows students to develop their writing skills in a stimulating and supportive environment; where the programme offers students the opportunity to develop creative work in progress, give and receive feedback and produce new writing; whilst it also encourages students to discuss the work of established writers and consider the theoretical, social and cultural contexts of contemporary writing.
Include: theories of creativity and writing; publishing project; independent Study module; genre-based modules address specific forms of genres of writing; and all students choose 2 from: advanced writing workshop, advanced poetry workshop, advanced scriptwriting workshop, advanced fiction workshop; alternatively, students may choose up to 2 modules from the MA Writing for Children.
