This course is aimed at students who already have some technical expertise in the recording studio environment, and in computer-based music production. There are two taught modules - music and media, and broadcast post production. A particular focus is the integration of new media design technologies in performance, and the use of audio in existing and emerging audio platforms. They will be encouraged to explore human multimedia interface design highlighting and creating emotional and other forms of meaning through artistic conceptions. The final project enables them to create, produce and reflect on a piece of music, score or soundscape focusing on a specific area of music production or music industry-related practices. The dissertation develops creative and research skills, and an understanding of theoretical debates in the subject.
