Having a multi skill base is important in today's design and marketing world of fast paced change and visual development. As professional photographers often now shoot film and stills at the same time for clients, it is important that Creatives understand this medium and it's potential.This two week course rolls art/creative direction, styling and film direction into one. In week one you will start working in teams to develop your idea on a story board promoting a Luxury or High street brand or fashion business. We will look at the best fashion films out there and who are the movers and shakers in the industry. We will explore fashion trends/Art and fashion photography history looking at how this impacts on the evolution of commercial ideas for selling brands in todayÕs digital market place. On day 3 with expert advice from a film tutor from the London Film School we will look at the techniques and tools available such as music, lighting, simple editing, styling, cropping, pace and focus available for creating mood and atmosphere. In week two either a student from the team can film the production themselves (if they have the necessary skills and equipment) or the team can elect to work with a professional camera/sound MA student from the London Film School. Please note you will be working in your teams with models, extras and hair and make-up to create your short fashion film idea in an outside location of your choice in week two. The post production of the film and editing will be done during this week using the London Film SchoolÕs technical facilities. Your CSM tutor will be available for contact by email and mobile if required. On Friday students will be asked to present their short fashion film DVD back at the CSM site to their tutor the rest of the class and a digital advertising professional for feed back. It would be an advantage to have use of a lap top for this course.
