The Courage to Sing offers a holistic approach to singing and was founded by Lorrayn de Peyer in 1992. We welcome both beginner and advanced level singers.
We focus on helping clients achieve full expression of their creativity and personal power through singing and performance; and we borrow from the psychology of success and achievement motivation to do this, and also from the healing arts such as yoga and meditation.
What's on offer
All styles of music from folk to rock to rap to classical to jazz are included. A central focus is to connect clients to their 'life force energy and passion' and to give them the tools for self expression and healing through music and singing.
We have courses and classes going on at many different venues in London and increasingly nationally. Please go to our web site
www.thecouragetosing.co.uk or call us on 01297 35966 for details of a Courage to Sing venue near you.
Our Beginner courses cater for people with no previous experience who want to sing for enjoyment, personal growth and self development. You will receive a basic introduction to the voice and how it works, a solid vocal training to increase the power, range and volume of your voice and you will learn exercises to help with breathing and general self confidence.
In the more advanced courses, participants concentrate on solo singing, and performance and recording techniques in preparation for professional or semi professional careers and enjoyment reasons. You are given the opportunity to record a CD single with a band and perform live in a PA gig.
Our courses are cutting edge, combining the best of training from the traditional performing arts, the healing arts and success psychology. Our mind/body/spirit holistic approach, impacts the lives of clients in many positive ways other than just improving their singing. Please refer to our profiles page for references from previous clients. Above all the courses are enormously good fun.
We have arranged the courses so that you can mix and match the levels, times and venues to fit in with your own ability and schedule.
