With 3 different levels of training this course provides a range of opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and career within the field of counselling and the helping professions; students can develop counselling skills for use as a facilitator of change through completing the 1-year certificate or build on this learning to develop as a professional counsellor through completing the diploma; students may also carry on to achieve a Master's by undertaking a research project on a topic that interests them; there is the choice of an integrative pathway or a cognitive behavioural pathway; the training hours on the latter pathway in part contribute to future application for individual accreditation with BACP; the 3 levels of the programme emphasise the integration of theory, research, practice and self-awareness to develop competent and ethically sound practitioners.
