Contemporary jewellery celebrates the contribution of the individual artist and designer-maker; cutting edge ideas in jewellery are no longer confined by traditional notions of material, scale, form and ornament, but are responsive to a range of influences from fine art, design, craft, fashion and photography; the course encourages students to explore the relationship between jewellery and other allied disciplines and is not prescriptive in terms of the range of materials students may wish to use.
