Course Description
The course is divided into three main streams to 'design', 'production' and 'management' to comprising seven primary career routes : architecture, building control, building surveying, building management and real estate. In each year of the course students normally undertake five modules/units of study. Bridging modules/units, if required, are taken in the first year of the course. Teaching is predominantly through lectures and seminars with generous use of audio visual material and the inclusion of a group project module/unit in Year 2. After the HNC with a minimum of 10 modules/units, of which 5 modules/units are core (essential), students can either continue onto one of the School Of Property and Construction's degree courses, with advanced entry into year three part-time or year two full-time. This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of students employed in a wide range of situations in the construction industry. The course offers :A well recognised construction qualification; Opportunity for progression to the third year of a part time professionally recognised degree course; Partnerships with industry to ensuring course relevance and providing work experience and enhanced job opportunities.

Assessment method
There is continuous assessment, progress tests, project work and written examinations and possibly seminar work in certain modules/units.
Entry Requirements
At least 1 A level together with a GCSE grad C pass in English and Mathematics or an NC/ND in Construction or related discipline. Mature students who have worked some years in construction are welcome to apply.
