Course Description
The course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current and future employment roles within the field of Computing. It especially focuses upon the role of Computing Practitioner/Developer in the Computing/IT environment. The course comprises ten modules. Core modules consist of: Computer Platforms, Database Design Concepts, Information Systems, Information System Project, Programming Concepts and Systems Analysis. Optional modules consist of: Multimedia Design and Authoring, Networking Technology, Visual Programming/Data Analysis and Design and Website Design. Different modules may be substituted if second year cohort wish to pursue the Software Development Pathway.

Assessment method
Assessment will be predominantly by scenario-based assignments involving both individual and group input.
Entry Requirements
Candidates will need National Certificate/Diploma (Merit Profile) or A Level at 100 points (not including Key Skills points) in a relevant subject. Applicants (aged 21+) with alternative qualifications/appropriate employment experience may be admitted at the Colleges discretion.
