This programme covers advanced networking, software development technologies and architectures for the design and management of network and distributed computer systems.

Modules

Year 1: Programming 1, software engineering 1, computer and communication systems 1, and formal foundations and theory of languages. Year 2: Mobile computing -L2, network implementation, security and management, computer and communication systems 2, and formal methods and the theory of communications. Optional sandwich year. Year 3: Project, network infrastructures for distributed applications, network management or distributed applications development, and an option chosen from a range of topic areas including artificial intelligence, computer architecture and operating systems, large scale systems development, network management or distributed applications development, research methods and practice, and web application technologies.
