Students study specialist courses similar to those for G401 MEng Computer Science, as well beginning to understand practical industrial applications, group work and individual design projects.Years 1 & 2: Students study software engineering in laboratories, attend lectures, and complete a group project covering the areas of databases, compilers, operating systems and networks.Students attend a 10-week work placement in industry between years 2 & 3.Year 3: Students undertake a research project, design and implement a substantial piece of software and write a project report.Students attend a 10-week work placement in industry between years 3 & 4.Year 4: Students undertake a group design project for an industrial client.
