Computer science is concerned with the specification, design, construction and use of computer systems; it embraces subject areas such as software engineering, hardware architecture and design, information systems, communications, graphics, simulation and modelling, artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction; physics studies how the universe works � from the smallest atomic nucleus to the largest galaxy; it includes the conceptual challenges such as quantum theory, relativity, and chaos theory, and lies at the heart of most modern technology.
Level 0: Computer software; computer hardware; introductory physics (2 modules); and 2 pure mathematics; level 1: computer programming; computer architecture and communications; 2 modules in physics; and either 2 applied mathematics or 2 pure mathematics modules; level 2: data structures and algorithms; quantum mechanics; statistical methods; plus at least 1 other module in each subject; level 3: at least 2 modules in each subject.
