Students learn about, and be able to use, a range of techniques, models and tools for analysis, design and development, and be able to select the best methods to carry out a given task.
Year 1: Semester A: all students take the same 4 modules, gaining a sound foundation in; computing; computation; data; programming and e-media; semester B: students study modules in programming; networked systems; computer architecture and a option of their choice. Year 2: All students take 3 core double modules, 2 of these double modules are in further programming, and operating systems and networks; the 3rd core double module is a professional development exercise, in addition students choose a 4th double module from a list of options. Final year: Students undertake a 2 module project, students study 2 modules in software engineering and/or further object-orientated design, as well as studying an advanced-topics module in this area and a further module in professional issues.
