The programme examines a range of underpinning technologies involved in networking and specifically examines and employs the technologies involved in network configuration, performance management and their security; the programme provides training in management and professional practice, and students can opt for a year in industry between their second and final years.Modules include: Introduction to computer networking; programming technologies; computer and communications engineering principles; computer modelling and applied mathematics; routing management and remote access; enterprise network systems; UNIX systems; software engineering and project management; database applications; and in the optional sandwich year; individual project; management and communications; advanced switching and network troubleshooting; wireless data technologies; information and network security engineering.
