Year 1: Introduction to WWW systems and design; programming for engineers; computer systems organisation; introduction to computer networking; software engineering; network engineering practice; programming for engineers; engineering applications. Year 2: Programming for engineers; local area networks; systems programming; wide area networks; software engineering; option. Optional sandwich year. Year 3: Engineering management; principles of communications systems; project; design and simulation of communications systems; network security engineering; communications methods and procedures; developments in information age engineering.
