Year 1: Through a series of short practical projects students explore both the visual and play aspects of games design; a comprehensive programme of history and theory lectures and seminars, weekly drawing sessions, technical workshops and gameplay sessions supports this. Year 2: further explorations of key concepts are paramount, as longer projects allow students to develop ideas, visual language, technical skills and working methodologies; students realise their projects through collaboration with game programmers from the Department of Computing; the theory strand supports the development of a research topic for the year 3 dissertation. Year 3: students develop and create a larger production plus also research and write their dissertation.
