This programme offers students an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding to be a contemporary community practitioner; this programme responds to national policy which focuses on the need for all public sector organisations to work together in partnership to improve, for example health, education and the environment; working from a social scientific basis students explore major issues in society using the principles of community development to underpin the learning; students are encouraged to develop understanding of social and policy landscapes as well as developing their own perspectives in this area.
Examples of modules: Conflict and conflict resolution; feminism (community and social welfare); disability; changing welfare (information advice and guidance); race, racism and anti-racism; community psychology; global youth and community work; managing people.
