This course is suitable for enthusiastic, hardworking candidates who are committed to pursuing a career in hair and beauty. There is an increasing need for trained stylists in this field of employment. At the end of the course you will be equipped to work in salons as a junior hair stylist. Alternatively you may follow a career in beauty or combine the skills of both hairdressing and beauty. The course is made up of two separate qualifications. VRQ in Beauty and a VRQ in hairdressing. It is varied and interesting with the emphasis on developing practical skills in both beauty therapy and hair. For direct entry, you must be at least 16 years of age with three GCSE passes at grade C to include English and a minimum of a grade D in Science. Candidates will have a personal interview with a course tutor and will undertake basic skills screening.
