Provides dental practitioners and their teams with a training opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to plan, treat, and maintain a range of straightforward partially and fully edentate patients using dental implants; also provides good preparation for dentists planning to sit the Diploma in implant dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
2 compulsory modules in: Theory and skills training in implant dentistry (20 credits); and clinical skills training and practice in implant dentistry (40 credits) including: Patient assessment, surgical placement of implants, and restoration of implants; modules are delivered as 1 continuous programme, mainly delivered through lectures and seminars.
