This course is aimed at those whose role is to scientifically analyse musculoskeletal mechanical function (and dysfunction) through the fundamental and more advanced concepts of motion analysis.
Core modules: fundamental principles (30 credits); mathematical principles; basic statics and dynamics; biomechanical principles (15 credits); introduction to kinematics and kinetics; biomechanical instrumentation or measurement (15 credits); measurement protocols; 2nd semester: 3-dimensional biomechanical modelling (15 credits); marker sets; 3-dimensional modelling software and programming languages; clinical gait analysis (30 credits; diagnosis and rehabilitation; research methods and statistics (15 credits) research project (60 credits).
