This course aims to give participants knowledge and understanding of the classical world through direct study of original sources. They will develop an enthusiasm for the classical world, develop an awareness of the relationship between the modern and the classical world, and the effect that the latter has had on shaping and making the modern world. They will have the chance to form their own personal responses to the set texts chosen for study and to further and enhance their analytical and evaluative skills.
