This course is Level 2 and suitable for those who have completed City & Guilds Level 1 Floristry and those who have had some experience in Flower Arranging and wish to develop their knowledge and skills to cover more technical design ideas. All students should have a basic knowledge of mechanics and styles as well as the Principles and Elements of Design. This Certificate course has been designed to encompass the following City & Guilds Units: - Level 2 7112 - 603 'Tributes with bases' - Level 2 7112 - 604 'Co-ordinated wedding items' - Level 2 7112 - 001 Design Unit - Level 2 7112 - 002 Sampling Unit These units cover a wide range of floristry designs including vase arrangements, table centrepiece designs and wired cake arrangements. Formal and informal funeral tributes on foam and moss bases. The Design & Sampling Units will cover a range of subjects aimed at providing the learner with relevant underpinning knowledge to further their overall design skills. Designs will be researched/discussed/demonstrated followed by learners completing their own designs. This will include looking at trends and techniques; developing an understanding of traditional and contemporary design work. Fresh, artificial and dried materials may be used. The Principles and Elements of Design will frequently be visited, studied and refreshed upon. Plant knowledge will be developed through the production of Plant Identification Sheets. City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate will be achieved having successfully completed the required coursework and practical assessments.
