Course Description
The programme focuses on the creation of dance and the contexts in which this takes place in modern Britain. The growth of dance as an area of study and as an art form shapes this innovative programme-providing students opportunities for creative and analytical investigation. The students embarking on this programme has the opportunity to investigate, through a synthesis of practice and theory, one of the fastest growing and most vibrant art forms in Britain today. Programme have a modular structure and the content covers investigations of choreographic process, the relationship of choreographic practice to its artistic and social context; contemporary issues in the performing arts, among other topics. Students have opportunities to develop their own choreographic practice as well as exploring the working context for choreographers in Britain today. In full-time programme, semester one consists: choreography in performance 2, contemporary issues in performing arts. And in semester 2: critical perspectives and choreography, independent choreographic research or the choreographer at work, independent project.

Course fees for 2007/2008 were: Full-time £4,830, Part-time £2,780 per year.

Good honours degree with second class or above or appropriate choreographic experience.
