This course looks at applied research in child psychology; it focuses on the advanced study of psychological development with regard to children and the implications of psychological theory and research for policy and practice; this course is ideal for students who are interested in pursuing a research career in child or developmental psychology, or for students who are a childcare professional wishing to enhance their knowledge.
Core modules: applied cognitive development; applied social development; methods and statistics for MSc psychology; practical research skills in psychology; psychology dissertation; social cognition (understanding others); theories of developmental psychology; optional modules: atypical development; children's relationships; guided research activity A; volunteering with children.
