This course provides the opportunity to develop practical skills knowledge and training in child care in preparation for progression to higher level study or employment. Work experience is included. Course content: Introduction to communication in children and young people's settings Introduction to personal development Introduction to equality and inclusion Child and young person development Contribution to health and safety Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people Managing paediatric illness and injury After this course: Progression to level 3 qualification or employment.
Students need to have 2 GCSE passes (Grade A* - D) or a level 1 vocational qualification and English and Maths at level 1 in the initial College assessment.
