Course Description
The Institute of Quality Assurance is the leading national body recognised by the UK Government, in this role it is a respected contributor to policy issues at both national and international level. It plays a highly significant role in informing and regulating the work of quality professionals in all sectors of industry, commerce and public service. As such it is a major contributor in supporting the well-being of organisations throughout the UK and this can be seen through its educational activities. The Diploma currently comprises six modules although it is envisaged that this will be expanded. Each module is 'free-standing' and can therefore be studied independently on a part-time basis, over a period of one academic semester, typically requiring student attendance on two evenings, however it is the intention of TIC to retain a more traditional programme of delivery by spreading a module over two semesters comprising one night's attendance per module. On successful completion of five core modules, plus at least one elective module, a student will be awarded the IQA Diploma in Quality.
Assessment method
All modules are assessed through a combination of assignments and formal examinations normally set and marked by the IQA.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements for educational achievements prior to entry to the course, however one of the purposes of the course is to establish a level of professional competence and therefore a good level of general education is necessary, particularly with regard to literacy and numeracy.
