This course offers practical teacher training. Students will learn to teach on the job, in their work place, supported and guided by a subject specialist mentor and supervised by tutor and employer. It covers units that include: teaching for practical learning 1 and meeting individual learners' needs. These units cover the essentials of induction, assessing learners' needs, and lesson preparation and planning, addressing individual learners needs - including skills for life, professional responsibilities and assessment. It also offers them with the opportunity to address their own requirements in supporting the skills for life needs of their learners.
Students will need to have a professional or vocational qualification at least to Level 3 and they will be invited to attend an interview at the College and take a written English and numeracy assessment.
