Course Description
This course will give you an opportunity to find out how to make small items in cast metal or other material (e.g. plaster, concrete). The basic lost-wax process was in use by the ancient Egyptians, but the modern version has been upgraded to make it easier and more direct. By the end of the course, you should have made at least one item to take away with you the record for a single student so far is 6 finger rings, 3 pendants, a snake and a frog (all in silver, except for the frog which was pewter with bronze eyes!). Additionally, some students may be able to cast from life using alginate, depending on time and interest.

Entry Requirements
No special entry requirements, although it would help if you have already had some kind of 'making' experience, e.g. plasticine, clay, wax, wood etc.
