This course is for individuals of any age who wish to pursue or continue a career in the field of health and social care, including posts with high responsibilities such as those related to supervision and care management; the course provides the knowledge and skills for career development.
Year 1: Equality; diversity and rights; legislation and social policy; helper and client; disability and employment module. Year 2: Applied psychology; quality and risk assessment; advocacy and representation; applied social studies; option module and employment module. Year 3: Research and independent study and option module. The employment module in year 1 and 2 allows the student to demonstrate competence within the workplace and link the theory to practice.
