The course has been designed for students who wish to gain an advanced education and training in the biological sciences, within the context of a disease that affects a large proportion of the global population; the course trains students in modern biological research skills which can be harnessed to further our understanding of cancer and improve treatment; in addition, students develop many transferable skills that are attractive to employers within the public and private sector.
Areas of study: Genomic stability and cancer; the molecular and cellular basis of cancer; practical and applied research skills for advanced biologists; science at work; targeted cancer therapies; translational medicine (from the laboratory to the clinic).
