This course aims to enable participants to write in the first major historical book hands and to produce basic pieces of finished work, in each. By the end of the course participants will: have a basic understanding of how European book hands arose from Roman capitals and basic understanding of types of styles of illumination and decoration associated with historical periods in which book hands were practiced.
