This course suits those working for a local authority housing department, registered social landlord or voluntary housing organisation, who wants to develop their knowledge and skills. It explores the three core units for the CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing plus the six units for the Housing Aid and Advice Pathway. It covers subjects that include: social factors affecting housing in the UK, the delivery of housing services in the UK, professional practice skills for housing, the framework for housing advice, introducing social welfare, housing and the law, occupancy, tenure and lettings, managing disputes and anti-social behaviour, homelessness services and prevention.
Students will need to be working in a suitable job on a paid or voluntary basis and attend an assessment and interview.
