The SGI Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) Evening mini-group course is primarily aimed at people, currently living and working in London, who wish to develop their General English and sit a high-level internationally recognised English language examination. The Cambridge CAE is set at C1 level, the second highest on the CEFR scale. Successful completion of this exam indicates students are highly proficient in English and are capable of operating in demanding academic and professional settings. It is officially recognised throughout the world by universities, governments and employers. The CAE course at SGI prepares students fully for the assessments, familiarising students with the format and content of the five papers and helping them to approach the exam with confidence. Students learn to fluently talk about a variety of topics, write in both formal and informal styles and read and understand texts from a variety of sources. The CAE is not only a valuable qualification but also excellent for students who want to improve their overall English skills and learn appropriate styles of language for a variety of situations, such as: Following any academic course at a university degree level of study, Communicating effectively at a managerial and professional level, Participating with confidence in the workplace at meetings or in academic settings such as tutorials and seminars, Carrying out complex and challenging research projects, stand out and differentiate yourself in the workplace.
