In this course, students will study areas: the developing child, children and play, the childcare practitioner in the workplace, safe, healthy and nurturing environments for children, vocational work experience in a nursery, pre-school or school. They may progress to level 3 diploma in children’s care, learning and development or alternatively enter employment as a nursery assistant or similar role.
Students must have two GCSEs at grade D or above, preferably including Maths or English, or an appropriate Introductory Diploma or equivalent Level 1 qualification. Two references showing suitability to work with children plus enhanced CRB disclosure.
