The course aims to deepen students� understanding of how businesses operates and to develop the ability to recognise and analyse economic, technical, financial, social and organisational parameters within which modern managers make decisions; the course aims to provide a thorough grounding in the basic principles of mathematics and to examine its applications to problems that can be modelled mathematically; and also to provide a learning experience that is intellectually challenging, relevant, up-to-date, stimulating and enjoyable; the course includes an overview of the 3 main strands of mathematics: pure; applied and computational.Business administration: Year 1: Economic environment of business; principles of financial accounting; organisational behaviour; quantitative methods; information technology in business.Year 2: Business economics; management accounting; marketing management; operations management.Final year: Business policy: analysis and process of strategic decision making; options from: analysis of organisations; financial management; social psychology and work; consumer behaviour; international marketing; international business economics; advanced business computing; behavioural problems in organisations; problems of management; effective management consulting; innovation.Mathematics: Year 1: Mathematical methods; differential equations; mathematical modelling; statistics; discrete mathematics.Year 2: Abstract algebra; vector analysis; real analysis; mathematical modelling; linear algebra; numerical methods.Final year: Complex analysis; linear algebra; numerical methods; approximation theory; partial differential equations; mathematical modelling.Optional sandwich year.
